Today Jory is 9 1/2 months old. YIPEE!!!! Time sure flies when you're having fun. Two months from today, my Tigger will be 5.

I remember the first time I saw Xavier. He was this little baby almost four months old. I remember how he and I spent his first Easter. We were at Aunt Maecine's wake and he woke up hungry. We were sitting in the front of the chapel in the funeral home and his mom was sitting in the back. I didn't want to be rude by walking all the way down the aisle to the back of the church so I went out the side door closest to me. We go through the door and end up in a hallway. Most of the doors in the hallway led to offices. I called out but no one was around. So I see the exit sign at the end of the hallway and head for that. I open the door and am greeted with April showers. Tigger only had a thin blanket wrapped around him, not nearly enough protection from the rain to make the long walk to the front entrance of the building. And secondly, I had just got my hair done.

Xavier through it all was being a real trooper. He was awake, but wasn't screaming at his auntie that she hadn't gotten him to his food supplier. So I turned back around and decided to check the other closed doors. One led to the bathroom and the second to the coffin showcase room. On a rainy, stormy, humid Southern night, Tigger and I walk through the coffin and as I discovered urn showcase room because I saw a door on the other side of the room. And sure enough the door led to another entrance to the front of the morturary home where his mom was waiting for us. And what was the first thing out of her mouth, "What took you so long?". I just smiled and handed her the baby.

The final 9 month shot. Next photos to be posted either his Christmas picture or his 12 month picture. I'm still undecided if I should take his Christmas picture myself or we go to Sears. For sure, we have to take a picture with Santa. Every kid needs one of those, I had to take my own when I was like 22 and at Chasen's. And I definitely need a picture of my baby with my boys.

He didn't smile as much as he usually does at his photo sessions. I don't think this photographer was wooing him in the right way to get him to do his usual boisterous laugh he does for the Sears' female photographers.

I was very proud of him for staying in his seat long enough for the pictures to be shot. He was a real trooper, like usual.

A close up of my baby. I can't believe he is 9 months already. Where did the time go? In three months, not only will it be Christmas but also his first birthday. That is so trippy. God truly blessed me with the most good natured, funny, loving, kissable, huggable baby in the world. I can't wait for Mijo and Tigger to meet him.

This background didn't look so dark when the pictures were being taken. Note for 12 month pictures, stick with lighter backdrops. Thank goodness I didn't buy this picture. Though Jory does look quite handsome as always.

Finally, he gets his dream to stand up in a picture of course he can only stand by himself for a few seconds at a time so he had to hold on to the pillar, you see on the side. He tried to walk away from the pillar so the photographer quickly snapped this. And he loves to hold his arms up ini pictures and I'm not quite sure why.

He took in my opinion his first real steps on Friday, October 7, 2005, in Aunt Brenda's new house. He walked about 3 or 4 steps to me. Of course being Jory, he wouldn't repeat it so Uncle Bobby and Aunt Lavonia could seem him do it. No, all of a sudden he was bashful boy, he couldn't walk.

This was my favorite pose of the set. The block is slightly tilting because he kept turning it over. The beautiful blue and white striped shirt, he is wearing is courtesy of Aunt Dee Dee and Uncle Stan. He would have taken a picture in the whole outfit they bought, but he outgrew the overalls that came with the shirt, along with the hat, and the socks. Man, this is growing fast.

It took forever to get him to sit still to take this picture, he wanted to stand so him kneeling was a nice compromise. He is now convinced he can walk and is no longer content crawling or even holding on to the table or the wall in order to walk. No, he would much rather hold on to your clothes and walk with you. It's the cutest thing on one hand, but on the other hand, it took me all day to clean up on Saturday. Finally I was done with this "walking" thing and I put him in his baby bjorn and finished cleaning up.

And if you're admiring his lovely sweater that is courtesy of his Aunt Renee and Uncle Mort.

Ah, my baby reading, his mommy's favorite past time. I'm praying it will be on of his too. Doesn't he look so studious?

One day shy of turning 8 months and 3 weeks, Jory said his first word and signed his first sign. YIPEEE!!! My baby is the greatest!!! So his first word, "Ah, no, no, no, no." I don't know why the "ah" was there, but it was. He said his first word first with Oma in the kitchen. She called me and I ran to hear it, but he refused to say again for me. Then as we were walking through Sam's Club later that morning with Aunt Brenda and Vandy, he said it for me. Then he signed "yes," as he and were browsing through the aisles. Since he likes opposites, maybe next he'll say "up" and sign "down."

Mommy's angel has now learned to shake his head. Last night, his Oma offered him some food and he shook his head, laughing the whole time, like it was the funniest thing in the world. I'm not sure what he thought was funny, the offering of the food or that he had learned this new trick of shaking his head. We'll see where he'll use this new trick next.

We finally made it to Sears on Sunday and took our 9 month pictures. YIPEE!!! He's getting so big. The photographer convinced me to take this picture. I think it turned out well.
